Nestled in the heart of Greenwood, Indiana, La Trattoria Italian Restaurant stands as a cherished destination for lovers of authentic Italian cuisine. From the moment you walk in at 201 N Madison Ave, you’re welcomed by an inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the rich, hearty flavors served on each plate. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging in a well-deserved night out, La Trattoria offers an experience that delights all your senses.

The menu is a celebration of Italian classics alongside creative favorites that have quickly become local staples. Start your meal with a shrimp cocktail or a fresh, crisp Caesar salad, then move on to irresistible entrees like the Chicken Parmesan—a beautifully breaded chicken breast smothered in savory marinara and melted cheese—or the temptingly rich and creamy Spaghetti Carbonara. For those seeking a bit more spice, the Spicy Sausage Alfredo Parmesan and Spicy Sausage Spaghetti deliver bold, robust flavors that awaken the palate.

Seafood lovers will revel in the delicate flavors of the Shrimp Fettuccine and the expertly grilled Tilapia, while vegetarians and mushroom admirers won’t want to miss the Stuffed Portabella Mushroom or the Stuffed Mushroom Capsicum Masala, dishes bursting with savory, earthy richness. And for those who prefer a hearty meal, their charbroiled steaks—from an 8 oz. filet to an impressive 18 oz. ribeye—pair perfectly with roasted potatoes and vegetables.

Whether sipping on a Caramel Apple Martini or selecting from their thoughtfully curated red wine list, including Macmurray Pinot Noir and Davinci Chianti DOCG, the beverage menu completes your dining journey with flair. The care and attention to detail is evident in both food and drink, creating a synergy that delights diners time and again.

What truly sets La Trattoria apart, though, is the consistent praise from patrons who return time and again. John Allie raves about their “cheesy potatoes covered in broiled cheese” and the “perfectly spiced Italian sausage,” while Adam Copper names La Trattoria one of his favorite Italian spots across the country, awarding it a flawless 5-star rating. One regular, Vera Reichenbacker, highlights the staff’s warm hospitality and recommends the homemade peppercorn ranch dressing and Paradise Martini as must-haves.

Couples celebrating special moments, like Steve Minderman on his wedding anniversary, find a romantic, beautiful setting complimented by dishes like jumbo shrimp cocktail, shrimp scampi, and tiramisu to finish. Even first-time visitors leave amazed by portions that are generous yet balanced, complemented by attentive service that never lets a glass run dry.

La Trattoria is a true gem in Greenwood, with a menu that feels as comforting as it is exciting, an atmosphere that embraces you warmly, and a team passionate about making every visit memorable. La Trattoria is and will always be a south side staple. We started off with the cheesy potatoes and meatballs which were both killer. The potatoes in particular are a must, covered in broiled cheese they just slapped! I had the baked rigatoni with a side of Italian sausage and would love to know where they source the sausages. Perfect spice, great snap on the bite. The wine was fantastic and $10 for a healthy glass of Pinot? Yes please. Enjoyed and will be back.

One of our favorite Italian restaurants anywhere in the US. We travel a lot but we are so very lucky to have this place right here in Greenwood Indiana! This is a restaurant that makes our "hot list" of must visits for our family, friends, and followers. We have no hesitation to give this restaurant a perfect 5 out of 5 star review. Make sure to check out our photos!

Google change the name of the restaurant it is not what it says it is called “the humble taco in Greenwood Indiana” Absolutely amazing! Our first visit to this restaurant the food was more than I could finish and tasted amazing. The waitress was spot on never let us run out of a drink just an all out nice experience. UPDATE Not sure why Google changed the name of the restaurant, but it’s called THE HUMBLE TACO

The very best in the Greenwood area if you are looking for Italian. The food, staff, and atmosphere are top notch. I recommend asking for their homemade peppercorn ranch dressing to go on your side salad and the Paradise Martini, and even if you're full after the meal, grab a cheesecake to go!

Friendly staff, good ambiance, and fantastic, authentic Italian food. We went for Galentine's Day dinner the day after the holiday and we tried the lasagna, manicotti, fettuccine Alfredo, spaghetti, and Brian's Alfredo with the mushrooms. We were stuffed and boxed up food, but wanted to try the creme brulee cheesecake and it didn't disappoint. Definitely recommend.

This spot was perfect for our Galentine's Day dinner! The good ambiance and friendly staff made for a wonderful group outing. The authentic Italian food is fantastic, and we loved the variety; from the classic spaghetti to the specialty Brian's Alfredo, every pasta dish was great. Even after getting completely stuffed, we couldn't resist the creme brulee cheesecake—a must-try dessert! Definitely recommend for a delicious and fun evening.
